Más Allá De Los Versos

Más Allá De Los Versos is a Spanish-language channel devoted to close reading of the Bible. Its stated aim is to explore the stories, the figures and the difficult passages of scripture in a way that stays comprehensible without becoming thin. The result is narrative biblical exposition built on specific questions rather than general surveys. That habit of questioning defines the channel. Why did Adam blame God for Eve in Eden? If Moses died on Mount Nebo, who came down to report what happened? How could Isaiah announce the birth of Jesus centuries beforehand? Who was the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament according to the Hebrew text? Why does the Bible never forbid polygamy, and what limit does it set instead? Each instalment begins from an anomaly, a tension or a silence in the narrative and works outward from there. There are also passes through complete books ( Habakkuk, the Acts of the Apostles ) portraits of figures such as Peter, Joseph and Asenath, Solomon and Zechariah, and material made expressly for children. The register is oral storytelling accompanied by imagery, sometimes animated, with frequent attention to the original wording and to what the text says literally as against what tradition has added. A visitor will find a channel of declared Christian confession rather than a seminar in historical criticism: it approaches scripture from faith and for faith. Within that frame, however, it shows a genuine appetite for what the text actually says, including the uncomfortable passages usually passed over.
