Espacio Histórico

Espacio Histórico offers a critical reading of the biblical texts through their original languages ( Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic ) and the historical setting in which they were written. The starting point is philological: what a word actually says in its own language and period, what later translations added, and what has been read into the text without the text saying it. From there it moves to history: how Israelite monotheism took shape, how it related to Canaanite cults, what archaeology shows about episodes the tradition takes for granted. The channel's series organize this work along several fronts: what is commonly taught wrongly, the Old Testament examined closely, what existed before the Bible, what the later church added. Some videos dwell on single passages where one translation has shaped centuries of reading; others reconstruct long processes, such as the religious transformation that followed the Babylonian exile or the disappearance of the so-called lost tribes. There are also excursions beyond the biblical corpus ( the question of Homeric authorship, for instance ) handled by the same criteria. What you will find is an academic and historical treatment, neither apologetic nor anti-religious: the aim is not to defend or dismantle a faith but to establish what can be asserted from the available sources. The material is in Spanish and assumes no prior knowledge of the ancient languages, though it quotes them when the argument requires it. This is a channel for anyone who wants to know how the text in front of them came to exist, and how far that text stands from what is usually attributed to it.
