Why Do I Still Feel Traumatised?
Can our deepest nature ever be traumatised, even when the body and mind clearly carry painful memories? Rupert says: ‘The body and mind can certainly be injured, and they may retain the effects of those injuries, but nothing ever scars true being. Understanding this is not enough on its own because feelings often take longer than thoughts to come into harmony with the truth. ‘Rather than strengthening the old identity through continual storytelling, simply allow understanding and kindness to embrace these feelings. In time, the body and mind naturally begin to reflect the peace that has always been present in being, and even if they never become perfect, that is entirely okay.’ *This video is from one of Rupert’s in-person retreats at The Vedanta, 21–28 November 2025.
